This is my entry into the cghub Nightmare modeling competition.
The inspiration was my definition of a nightmare, obviously, and more to the point what I fear personally.
I went for something human in shape but with a haunting quality. Something which could stop my heart without ripping it out of my chest.
“Sandman” because it reflects upon that moment of vulnerability before sleep…just before you feel safe enough to relax your senses, that moment as a child when the house was silent and your imagination would deliver the most irrational thoughts.
They say “if you die in your dreams, then you die in real life”
so far that theory is the stuff of horror films, but I think it leads to a darker place…what if what you fear is a fate worse than death…surely that is the stuff of nightmares!
